ECU Group - decision makers

Michael Petley is ECU’s Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of its Investment Committee. Michael has more than 20 years of experience in trading FX, having co-founded ECU in 1988. Until 2008, he presided over the successful management of ECU's core currency products, positioning ECU as a pioneering leader in its field. He rejoined ECU in February 2011.

Charles co-founded the ECU group of companies in 1987 and left in 1995 following the sale of its derivatives business, ECU Futures. Charles then founded IFX Markets where he initiated the reverse takeover of Zetters Group plc in 2000. He joined IG Group as Head of Business Development in January 2005 before rejoining ECU in November 2005.

Neil is ECU’s Head of Trading. He was formerly co-founder and Head of Investment at 3D Currency Management. Neil graduated from UCL with a degree in Statistics, Computing, Operational Research and Economics and joined RBS Financial Markets specialising in FX. His primary experience is of proprietary trading, predominantly in FX but he also has experience of interest rate swaps, futures and options, emerging markets, equity indices and Government Bonds.
